As Google Chrome adoption goes up among your website audience, you will likely see a higher proportion (not provided) keywords in the organic keyword report.
Already, for most of my sites, half of all organic keywords are (not provided). It has an unfortunate impact for interest analysis. That report was an important instrument for understanding the intent of new visitors to the website.
Two editorials:
- There's a lot more cost than what meets the eye when anybody offers a free product. (Not that this wasn't predicted or said years ago.)
- Information asymmetry is a powerful weapon - I wonder who they're using it against?

Not to plug my own stuff, but I have been besides myself for over a year about this absurd (not provided) question: http://www.waomarketing.com/blog/analytics-notes/2011/11/why-the-heck-care-about-private-search/
I think it is about time we start giving hell to Google for keeping for themselves information that has always been available and **anonymous** (privacy concern? what crap!!)
Great link Jacques, thank you.
